Session Description

Too often families are involved in chronic pain management activities that have little relationship to what really goes on with their children in an early childhood program. Learn how engaging them in meaningful ways can be rewarding for both the family and the program.

Presenter Biographical Information Cindy Hornsby is the Coordinator of the UTC Children's Center at Brown Academy. The learning lab for UTC's early childhood teacher licensure program, this site is located in an urban public school building and serves children from six weeks through prekindergarten. Cindy has a bachelor's degree in Early Childhood Education and a master's degree in School Leadership. She has taught preschool and PreK and has presented at numerous local and state conferences.

Anne Gamble directs United Way's community initiative, Project Ready for School. She has a bachelor's degree in Early Childhood Education and a master's degree in Special Education. Anne was the director of the UTC Children's Center arthritis treatment for 20 years and has been project co-director for two U.S. Department of Education early childhood education professional development grants (Early SUCCESS and Project REEL).
